How to get started at Keep Moving Pilates?
The best way to get started is with our intro offers.

What classes, sessions and programs does Keep Moving Pilates offer?

Group classes: Reformer, Reformer Foundation, Reformer Stretch & Mobility, Jump Board Reformer, Mat. Over 60 Reformer.

Sessions: Privates 1:1 and Semi Privates 4:1.

Programs: Return to Movement, Women Thrive (Perimenopause & beyond).

I have not practised Pilates before. What is the best way to get started?

  • You can go straight into our group classes or start with a couple of private sessions.

  • You can get started with our Reformer Foundation group class – especially designed for people new to Pilates. The class moves at a slower pace, and you have time to get confident with the exercises and the apparatus. All other group classes are layered up, and you go as far as you feel confident with the exercise. We teach hands on, go around in class and support you.

  • Starting with private one-on-ones. The first session will be a first initial consultation, where we get to know your physical history, you, your goals and see how your body moves. All sessions thereafter will be individually designed for you and your body. You work one-on-one with your instructor, and progress at your pace.

How many times per week should I practise Pilates?

  • We recommend three times per week for best results.

  • But all is depending on your goals, lifestyle and how fast you want to see results.

  • Two classes per week: If you are rebuilding, especially after illness, setbacks, injury or time off. It gives your body time to adapt, getting into a new exercise routine and slowly building up.

  • Three+ classes per week:

  • Past the beginner stage. See more noticeable results. Feel stronger, more stable through your core, and confident.

What should I bring to class?

Bring your water bottle and place it next to you, so you can sip anytime.

What should I wear?

Wear comfy clothes you can move in - no zips please to protect our equipment from any damage. Wear grip socks. If you don’t have grip socks, you can purchase them in the studio.

I am pregnant. Can I practise Pilates?

We welcome Mum’s to be in our group classes, up to the end of the second trimester. From there you can go over into our semi private or private sessions, and work on an individual designed plan. It will prepare you for the time your little one arrives with all it’s challenges of carrying your child, feeding etc.

I am post rehab, have an injury or medical condition. Can I practise Pilates?

Please consult your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program. Let your instructor know about any conditions before the start of the class – even if they were stated in our health details form. Talk to us if you are unsure, whether to start with privates/ clinical Pilates, semi privates or group classes. If you are post rehab, you are welcome to bring any notes from your health care provider, and we include it into your individual plan.

What is your cancellation policy for group classes?

- Classes can be cancelled up to 12 hours before start time, and the class will be returned to your account for future use.

- Cancellations made less than 12 hours before, will be marked as "used".

- No Show: The class will be marked as used plus a No show fee of $15.00 will apply.

This policy applies regardless of the reason for the cancellation, so unfortunately it does not cater for sudden illness or similar situations. We apply this consistently for all members to maintain fairness and clarity.

Can I claim a rebate from my health fund for Pilates group classes? Health Management Rebates

From 1 April, rebates for Pilates have returned. You may be able to claim rebates under “Health Management” or “Healthy Lifestyle Programs.”

These programs are typically designed for people with long-term conditions and require a health management plan or referral from your GP or allied health provider.

I recommend checking with your insurer to confirm your eligibility and what documentation is needed.

If you need an invoice for your claim, please get in touch via email or chat with me after class. Invoices for class packs can be issued once all sessions have been used, as they must include specific details such as class dates and times. For memberships, invoices can be provided after your most recent renewal, stating the classes you’ve attended.
